THINKmd co-founder, Dr. Barry Finette, is hopeful that his Vermont-made software MEDSINC will save the lives of children in some of the world’s poorest countries. UVM pediatricians, Dr. Finette and Dr. Barry Heath have developed the MEDSINC platform that guides community health care workers and other nonmedical caregivers when and where no doctors are available. “What we tested in over 150 patients and what we found is when a minimally skilled user assesses a patient, is that the assessments that are generated correlate up to 80 to over 95 percent to that of a physician seeing the exact same patient,” Finette said.
