Lee BouyeaBouyea is a Managing Director at FreshTracks Capital. He joined the team in 2005 during the investing life of FreshTracks’ first fund.  Bouyea currently serves on the Boards of Social SentinelPatient Engagement Systems & Bridj, and is an Observer to Ello, Auterra, Mamava and Horse Network.  Lee also formerly led FreshTracks’ investments in Quirky (acq. by Flextronics), Draker (acq. by BlueNRGY), mophie (acq. by mStation) and NEHP (acq. by Critical Process Systems Group).

Bouyea’s professional background includes marketing, product and business development expertise working for eBay, Nextel Communications and Pacific Marketing Associates.  Lee was also an early employee at the venture-backed startup Ebates, which was acquired by Tokyo-based Rakuten for $1Bn in 2014.

He is a native of Burlington, VT where his family owned and operated Bouyea-Fassetts Bakery for three generations. Bouyea-Fassetts successfully sold its assets to the Freihofer Baking Co. in 1989, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kraft Foods.

Bouyea graduated from Colgate University in 1997 and earned an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in 2005. While at Dartmouth, Lee was selected to be a Fellow at Tuck’s Center for Digital Strategies, where his studies focused on the Digital Media industry.

Lee is an active member of the Vermont community and serves on the Boards of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce (LCRCC) and DiscoverJazz, as Secretary for Burlington City Arts, Chair of the Advisory Board for LaunchVT, and is a member of the North Country Angels.  Bouyea also formerly served on the Boards of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF),  the Vermont Tech Council, and Vermont Investors Forum. Lee has also spoken as a panelist for UVM’s Invention 2 Venture conferences, for Seven Days’ Tech Jam, and the LCRCC’s Legislative Breakfast & Small Business VT Summit, as well as been a Judge for LaunchVT, EPSCOR’s Innovation Fund Awards & MassChallenge. He was a graduating member of the Leadership Champlain Class of 2009, was formerly an Associate Member of the Vermont Business Roundtable, and was honored by Vermont Business Magazine in its inaugural class of Rising Stars Awards.
