Lee Bouyea, managing director of Shelburne-based FreshTracks Capital, was pleased to learn Google Ventures may be taking an interest in Vermont firms.  FreshTracks is the state's only venture capital firm.  

"If Google Ventures knocks on your door and says they want to invest in your company, that's very exciting and a huge opportunity for an entrepreneur,"  Bouyea said.

FreshTracks has attracted funding from firms outside Vermont to bolster their investments in the past, he said.  FreshTracks has $25 million split into two investment funds, most of it invested in Vermont companies.
