The Vermont Teddy Bear Co. this month released toy bear versions of Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Sarah Palin, joining bear versions of Barack Obama and John McCain, which were released late into the primary season this year.
The 2008 presidential election is the first that the Shelburne-based ocmpany has waded into. It launched the Obama and McCain bears just as the Republican was wrapping up the nomination this year.
The gimmick has proven to be a success for the company as the teddy bear versions of the candidates received press coverage from newspapers and blogs across the country.
